About the Role – Motor Mechanic or Wheel Aligner
JAX Tyres & Auto Townsville are seeking an experienced Motor Mechanic or Wheel Aligner to join their store. In this role, you will maintain and repair light vehicles through identifying and rectifying faults, as well as following specific vehicle manufacturer guidelines to deliver an industry leading level of customer service.
Occasionally you will be required to carry out fitting, balancing, repairs and general servicing of tyres and wheels as directed.
You will be working in a well-equipped and organised workshop, closely alongside your service advisor, head motor mechanic, motor mechanics and wheel aligners to deliver an industry leading level of customer service.
Your day-to-day tasks would include.
-Perform repairs, maintenance, and diagnostics on customer vehicles.
-Identifying mechanical faults as well as issues with vehicle stability and tyre wear
-Performing all tasks relating to tyres and wheel/suspension services that JAX Tyres & Auto provide.
-Provide professional advice and report potential hazards / dangerous risks found on customer vehicles.
-Safely Operating hoist and conducting road tests as required.
About you
-MUST hold relevant licences and certifications required to operate as a Motor Mechanic in relevant state or territory.
-2 or more years’ experience as a qualified motor mechanic.
-1 or more years’ experience as a wheel aligner.
-Excellent communication skills, time management and problem-solving skills.
-Ability to work in a team environment, but also unsupervised.
-MUST be physically fit and able to carry out day-to-day tasks.
-Knowledge WHS practices
-MUST be experienced and knowledgeable in the automotive and/or tyre industry.
