About the Role – Head Motor Mechanic / Workshop Manager at JAX Tyres & Auto Heatherbrae

This position is a Head Mechanic / Workshop Manager position. In this role, you will maintain and repair light vehicles through identifying and rectifying faults, as well as following specific vehicle manufacturer guidelines to deliver an industry leading level of customer service.

You will be held to a standard that is aimed to enhance the company, its products and services, optimizing customer safety and satisfaction. working in a well-equipped and organised workshop, closely alongside your fellow team.

The position will involve you overseeing an awesome small team consisting of a mechanic, tyre fitters / wheel aligners and a apprentice motor mechanic. Your day-to-day tasks would include

Repairing and maintaining customer vehicles
Carrying out wheel alignments, wheel balancing and other wheel/suspension related services
Identifying mechanical faults as well as issues with vehicle stability and tyre wear
Providing advice and reporting potentially dangerous risks found on customer vehicles
Take Charge of workshop
Safely operating hoists
Conducting road tests as required
Conducting registration inspections
Other workshop duties as required
About you

Preferably 2 or more years experience as a qualified motor mechanic
Must have RMS AIA qualification
Excellent communication skills when dealing with customers and team members
Able to work in a team environment, but also unsupervised
Have excellent time-management and problem-solving skills
Physically fit and able to carry out day-to-day duties
Knowledge of WHS practices
Available Saturdays OT
Have own tools
MUST have experienced in the automotive tyre industry
